CROSSROADS GUITAR FESTIVAL: 'Metal Clinic' Scrapped
May 26, 2004The previously announced "Metal Clinic" at this year's Crossroads Guitar Festival, featuring Zakk Wylde (OZZY OSBOURNE, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY),Jerry Cantrell (ex-ALICE IN CHAINS) and George Lynch (ex-DOKKEN),has been scrapped due to scheduling conflicts. George will instead join Nuno Bettencourt (ex-EXTREME) and Tony Franklin (ex-WHITESNAKE, BLUE MURDER) at the "Shredder's Clinic" Saturday (June 5) at noon. In addition, an All-Star Blues Jam hosted by Eric Clapton with Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Robert Randolph and Jimmie Vaughan has been added for 9:00 p.m. Saturday night.

The Crossroads Guitar Festival will feature the Guitar Center Village including the Hard Rock Café's "50 years of American Rock and Roll" display, interactive booths from leading guitar manufacturers, the "buy-sell-trade" Vintage Showcase and a display of guitars donated from Eric Clapton and friends personal collections for the forthcoming June 24 Christie's auction with proceeds benefiting the Crossroads Centre. Concerts begin Friday evening and continue into Saturday afternoon on multiple indoor and outdoor stages. The event will culminate with an 11-hour concert at the Cotton Bowl on Sunday. Tickets to each day of the Crossroads Guitar Festival are available through Ticketmaster. Tickets are $15 for Friday, $45 for Saturday and $60 for Sunday.
